Susan with grades 3 & 4 students of the Crawford Bay School on an educational wetlands adventure

Susan has spent the past 36 years getting to know her own backyard - the communities of Riondel, Kootenay Bay, Crawford Bay and Gray Creek.  Every year her hobbies of kayaking and hiking take her along the shores of Kootenay Lake and to the heights of the Purcell Mountains pursuing her interests in local history and native plants.

Local guided adventures which she offers include:

  • Trips to alpine meadows to see regional wildflowers
  • Gentle interpretive walks in low elevation wetlands
  • Easy to Moderate hikes on Pilot Peninsula
  • Visits to easily-accessible historic sites such as 100 year old Pilot Bay Lighthouse and the ‘ghost town’ of Pilot Bay.

If you have some other destination in mind, just ask.  If Susan can’t guide you herself, she probably knows someone else who can.
