Impressions of the Past

The Early History of Crawford Bay, Gray Creek, Kootenay Bay Pilot Bay and Riondel, was co-authored in 2002 by Susan Hulland and Riondel resident and author,  A. Terry Turner. Production of this 304 page, soft-cover, large format community history book  was sponsored by The Riondel & Area Historical Society.

As well as documenting the history of each of the five communities, this richly illustrated publication includes chapters on the subjects of Transportation, Mining, Fruit Ranching, Hunting, Fishing & Trapping, Logging and the early Geological history of the area.

Impressions of the Past won rave reviews from local residents but the quality of this 304 page book is noted by the fact that it was awarded second prize from among 39 entries,  in the B.C. Historical Federation’s 20th annual history book writing competition.

Impressions of The Past is currently out of print.  To have your name put on a list for re-print copies to be published at some future date, contact The Riondel & Area Historical Society, Box 201, Riondel, BC, Canada, V0B 2B0
